Welcome to the website
of the mezzo-soprano
Isabell Großmann
Making music together is fun. I have been giving concerts regularly for years, alone or together with other musicians. I would also be happy to take part in your event.
Everyone starts once. I give lessons in viola, violin and voice for beginners and advanced students. The lessons are tailored to the wishes of the student.
Music gives every occasion a festive touch. I am happy to accompany your festive occasions, e.g. weddings or christenings. Singing and violin and other instruments can also be combined in chamber music settings. Please feel free to contact me.
Gemeinsam musizieren macht Spaß. Ich gebe seit Jahren regelmäßig Konzerte, alleine oder zusammen mit anderen mit Musikerinnen und Musikern. Gerne nehme ich auch an Ihrer Veranstaltung teil.
Jeder fängt einmal an.
Sprechen Sie mich gerne an.

Isabell Großmann was born in the Palatinate and grew up near Koblenz. She began viola lessons at the age of 12. She received lessons from Andreas Sokol. She became a member of the state and national youth orchestras. At the same time, she began singing lessons with Mrs. Christiana Jordan. After graduating from high school, she decided to pursue an artistic career and study music. She studied viola and voice at the Kassel Music Academy and at the Detmold Music Academy with Almut Steinhausen, Prof. Alexander Stevenson and Prof. Lindemann.
After her studies, she completed her training with Nurit Herzog Gorén, Petra Schmidt, Rudolph Ducke and Paul Wiederin. She attended master classes with Professor Lindemann, Professor Diericks (viola) and Bernd Weikel (singing).
In 1998, she received the "Förderpreis der Stiftung Peredur" in singing and viola. She was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Foundation and performed at the Bad Arolsen Baroque Festival in 2005 and at the Summer of Culture in Hesse in 2006.
The mezzo-soprano gained numerous solo concert experiences in regular work with orchestras and gave concerts in Libya in 2005/2006 and 2007. In 2007, she recorded her first solo CD with works by Strauss, Brahms, Mozart, Verdi and Bizet. The second CD followed in summer 2007 with the "Kindertotenlieder" by Gustav Mahler and works by Brahms, Strauss and Martin. In 2008, she appeared as soloist in the ARD live broadcast of the television fair from Kassel. Performances in Paraguay followed. In 2012, she recorded her first CD with the pianist Martin Wenning, featuring only songs by the composer Luise Greger. A long-standing collaboration with the pianist Edelgard Dratwa always reveals new aspects of the Lied.
Each song is a story, a painting, a universe that lets us forget time and space.
We embark on journeys, the music is the vessel that lets us float lightly through these worlds.
Every song evening, with its many stories, is now and then also a galaxy.
